Windows 7 includes a little-known new feature called Virtual WiFi, which effectively turns your PC or laptop into a software-based router. Any other WiFi enabled devices within range - a desktop, laptop, or a Smartphone - will see you as a new network and, once logged on, immediately be able to share your Internet connection.
This will only work if your wireless adapter driver supports it, though, and not all do. Check with your adapter manufacturer and make sure you've installed the very latest drivers. Once this is confirmed, follow these steps to enable Virtual WiFi:
1. Click on the Start button and type in 'CMD'
2. Right-click on CMD and select 'Run as administrator'
3. Type 'netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=MyNet key=MyPass'
Replace 'MyNet' with your own custom name
Replace 'MyPass' with your own password
4. Press the Enter button
5. Type in 'netsh wlan start hostednetwork' then press Enter
6. Exit the Command prompt
7. Go to 'Control Panel->Network and Sharing Center'
8. In the left pane, click on 'Change adapter settings'
9. Right-click on your network and select 'Properties'
10. Click On The 'Sharing' tab and check the first checkbox
11. Select the Virtual WiFi adapter you just created
